Johnny The Hammer and Pistol Pete stood by this manhole cover in the early days of 1919, hoping for a chance sighting of a pretty lady that Pete claimed he saw a few days before. They were both determined to be the one to catch her eye. She never showed up, but the cigarette butt that Johnny flicked on the street in dejection may still be found there today.
This set of 2 commemorative New York Street-themed coasters was sculpted from polymer clay and hand painted. There is a protective resin coating on the top and a cork backing.
