This little canal scene doesn’t exist as shown in the diorama, but I did borrow the beautiful entrance from a real clam cannery in Port Townsend, WA and another (modified) building entrance from Venice. The seagull and rat joined the fun to give the scene a little life. And also because I love to add rats to some of my miniature scenes. I can’t give you a logical reason why.
